What to Expect

During Your House Call or Farm Visit

What to Expect at Your First House Call Appointment

Integrative Healing—Where Science, Tradition, and Compassion Come Together

Our house call service is designed to support your companion animal's health from a comprehensive and integrative perspective. We work alongside your conventional (Western) veterinarian to enhance treatment, promote healing, and improve overall quality of life—especially in cases of chronic disease, pain, performance concerns, or long-term wellness support. Our approach blends Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine (TCVM) and other modalities with modern diagnostics, biomechanics, and whole-patient care. Every assessment is thoughtful, thorough, and personalized.

Before the Appointment

To provide the highest level of care, we require that your conventional veterinarian’s records are received by our team at least 48 hours prior to the visit.

These records should include:
📄 Medical notes and treatment history
🩺 Lab work and diagnostics
🦴 Radiographs (X-rays), ultrasound, or other imaging
📋 Current medications, supplements, injections, or therapies

This allows our doctor to arrive well-informed and prepared to deliver the most effective, integrative care.

What to Expect During the in-home Examination

Each new patient receives a thorough and gentle evaluation from an integrative perspective, which may include:

  • Full physical examination

  • Thermal Imaging

  • TCVM (Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine) assessment including tongue and pulse evaluation

If your companion animal is presenting with chronic pain, performance issues, or lameness, additional assessment may include:

  • Evaluation of mobility, comfort, and postural restrictions

  • Gait, posture, and mobility assessment

  • Pain assessment including palpation of diagnostic acupuncture points

Important Participation Requirements

In order to conduct a complete and safe assessment:

✔ An individual must be present who can calmly and safely participate in the appointment
✔ If the owner cannot be present, a representative must be able to:

  • Provide an accurate medical and behavioral history

  • Walk and/or jog the companion animal for visual assessment (when appropriate)

  • Authorize treatment decisions on behalf of the owner

Treatment Options

After the assessment, a personalized integrative treatment plan will be developed to support comfort, wellness, and functional improvement. Recommended therapies may include:

  • Acupuncture

  • Herbal medicine or nutraceutical supplementation

  • Homeopathy

  • IV regenerative or vitamin-based supportive therapies (where applicable)

  • Laser therapy

  • MagnaWave/PEMF (pulsed electromagnetic field therapy)

  • Shockwave therapy

  • Initial assessment includes one treatment (acupuncture, laser therapy, magnawave). Additional treatment therapies are billed separately from the initial assessment and house call trip fee.

  • Dr. B may suggest diagnostics outside of routine conventional testing including gut biome testing, integrative blood analysis, vitamin testing, cancer screens, and more.

After the Visit

Before leaving the home:

✔ Supplements or herbal formulas will be dispensed as prescribed or, if unavailable at the time of appointment, will be mailed or delivered directly to your door.
✔ Follow-up appointments will be scheduled by our technician or doctor.
✔ Payment will be collected at the time of service. You will have the option of leaving a payment method on file when scheduling your appointment for ease of payment. Invoice will be sent to the email on file.

Ongoing Collaboration

We will work closely with your regular veterinarian to ensure clear communication, cooperative care, and comprehensive wellness support. Our goal is not to replace your conventional veterinarian, but to enhance possibilities for healing, comfort, and optimal function through integrative care.
